Stevens Women in Computer Science (SWiCS) is an undergraduate student organization at Stevens dedicated to promoting the advancement of young women in computer science, both in academia and in industry. We foster an inclusive and supportive environment that inspires and empowers women at Stevens, while creating meaningful opportunities for professional growth, leadership, and community building. Through conferences, events, and hands-on experiences, SWiCS works to empower the next generation of women leaders in technology.
Stevens QuackHacks SWiCS is the lead organizer of Stevens QuackHacks, Stevens’ student-run hackathon. This event brings together students from diverse backgrounds to collaborate, innovate, and build impactful technical projects in a high-energy, inclusive environment. QuackHacks provides participants with mentorship, technical workshops, and exposure to industry sponsors, allowing them to gain real-world experience beyond the classroom while fostering creativity and teamwork: all free-of-cost to attendees!
Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) SWiCS takes pride in its ability to send members to prestigious conferences such as the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), the premier conference for women in technology and the world’s largest gathering of women and non-binary technologists. Thanks to our sponsors, we sent multiple students to GHC from 2023 to 2025, where they connected with innovators and disruptors across the tech industry, expanded their professional networks, and gained insight into cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of computing.
Harvard WECode We rely on the generous support of donors to provide SWiCS members with opportunities to attend conferences like Harvard WECode. Your contribution helps our members attend Harvard WECode 2026, where they learn about emerging technologies, participate in career-focused workshops, and network with professionals from across the globe. These experiences allow students to explore career paths, develop confidence, and build connections that extend far beyond their time at Stevens.
Women’s History Month Gala SWiCS is also a lead organizer of the Annual Stevens Women’s Gala, a signature event that celebrates the achievements and impact of women in technology and related fields. The Gala brings together students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals to recognize leadership, foster community, and inspire future generations.
Thank you so much for your contribution—SWiCS is deeply grateful, and your support goes a long way in empowering current and future women in technology.
