About

Engineers Without Borders - USA seeks to provide "A better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs. Our highly skilled volunteers work with communities to find appropriate solutions for their infrastructure needs."

Stevens EWB-USA is a student-led and run organization to empower students to make a positive impact on a global level.

Recently our organization was granted a water security project in Chua Chua, Peru. The project aims at providing much-needed water security during the dry season to indigenous residents. The project aims to increase students' cultural, engineering, and professional knowledge and expertise by solving real-world problems and creating viable solutions. Our goal is to allow students to experience the full engineering design process from project assessment to post-implementation monitoring.

A multi-year and multi-phase endeavor. This campaign is to support travel expenses for the assessment trip in August 2024. This trip will allow Stevens EWB-USA students to visit the site and determine the scope of the project. They will meet with members of the community as well as representatives for EWB to devise solutions to address the water security needs of the local community.

Project Updates
EWB-USA Peru Water project!

Welcome to SIT’s EWB-USA Peru Water project! We are currently in the pre-assessment phase preparing to embark on our assessment trip THIS SUMMER! Currently our project development team is working to develop a deep understanding of the Chua Chua community through connecting virtually, reading literature about the culture, and conducting remote monitoring of the area. All this and more will prepare us to aid the community to the best of our abilities. We are working around the clock to bring new experts and professors onto our mentorship team while garnering a deeper understanding of geology, hydrology, and project management. Our assessment trip will enable our team to collect necessary data, refine our project scope, identify previously unknown hazards or variables, and develop a personal relationship with the community. Your contribution to this project enables our club to provide the highest quality of engineering support to the 23 families of the Chua Chua community and an incredible learning experience for our club members.
