About

Your gift this year will help provide equipment and facility upgrades to make Walker gym a state-of-the-art arena for both practice and competition. Installation of body cord equipment and reels to the upper track of Walker gym would allow athletes to seamlessly plug in as they begin practice rather than spending time preparing this technical equipment for use. This increased practice time translates to greater success in both conference and NCAA tournament competition.

The women’s fencing program posted the ninth-best grade-point average among all NCAA institutions with an impressive 3.616 team grade-point average, earning honors as an All-Academic Team by the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA). The Ducks, one of just seven programs to earn the honor, also placed 18 student-athletes on the All-Academic team, including 10 Scholars of Distinction.

Also on the rise, the 2022-23 men’s fencing program scored a big win over Columbia’s #1 ranked team, earning the #2 Division III spot. In addition, the program posted the fourth-best grade-point average among all NCAA institutions – for the second year in a row – with an impressive 3.561 team GPA, and earning recognition as an All-Academic Team by the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA). The Ducks, who were one of just 13 programs to earn the honor, also placed an NCAA-high 21 student-athletes on the All-Academic team and tied for the NCAA lead with 14 Scholars of Distinction.
