The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) is a professional organization that represents the Latino community here at Stevens. Additionally, ALPFA was the first national Latino professional association in the United States and continue to build upon its proud legacy with a mission: To empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.

As a result, the ALPFA National Convention is a multi-day event where opportunities are abundant for Latinos. It is a place where ALPFA partners recruit Latino talent, business and thought leaders lead innovative conversations, and the ALP Familia reunites.

Our main goal is to be able to send 10 students to the convention through sponsorship and fundraising. We intend to use the raised funds to finance these students and give them the opportunity to travel and connect with potential employers.

The impact of the ALPFA convention

For Chris the ALPFA convention adds value to his network both from other members and also professionals, professional development, and also has allowed him to connect with various companies.

Meet Fiorella!

Being able to go to a convention this big and leave with an internship was not something I expected. Especially as it was my very first big networking event but the number of opportunities not only to get internships, but connect with professionals and also other ALPFA members from around the country was every lifechanging”
